Community Listening Sessions
The Ipswich Catholic Community is a great place. I am sure if one were to look at us as we gather each Sunday, and throughout the week, one would think it is working well. While we are grateful that many people feel out community is working well, we do acknowledge there is a lot more work to be done. In order to identify the areas out parishes need to work on, recently we held ‘listening sessions’ to talk about life within the Ipswich Catholic Community.
Thank you to all those who attended and provided some insightful ideas to help us move beyond what we are today. The following sections outline the responses from each of the four parishes. Over the coming months this page will be updated as we respond to the thoughts and ideas from our community.
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
This ministry for children aged from 3 to 9 years and is a special style of religious formation for the younger child. It is offered in the parish for families who would like their child to enhance their relationship with God through a range of activities that are offered in the activity. We have operated this ministry in the parish for 15 years and have witnessed and come to know many children and their families from the parish and the school. It is particularly helpful for children who ask many questions about God, religion, faith and about going to Church. Sessions are held in the small room underneath the year one class room at St Mary’s Primary School and the times for the session have been added to our Community Calendar.. Click Here
